The Mkhitar Gosh Center for Armenian Studies was officially established at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań

As part of the working visit of Alexander Arzoumanian, the Ambassador of Armenia to Poland, to Poznań, an official ceremony was held to mark the founding of the Center and the formation of its Program Council. The event took place with the participation of the University’s Rector, Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska.

In his remarks, Ambassador Arzoumanian welcomed the fact that 32 students had applied to join the Center’s first “Armenistyka” postgraduate program, emphasizing the significance of the Center’s mission in advancing academic study of Armenian language, literature, and culture.

The Council includes Alexander Arzoumanian, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Poland, professor Rafał Witkowski, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Poznan, Hraczja Bojadzjan, the representative of the Armenian minority in the Joint Commission of the Government of Poland and National and Ethnic Minorities, and professor Adam Pomieciński, the Director of the Center.

During the meeting, participants discussed potential avenues for joint educational, scientific, and cultural initiatives, outlining future directions for collaboration.
