Retrospective of the films entitled "Parajanov. Colors of Cinema"

On October 19, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 100th anniversary of Sergei Parajanov, the "Iluzjon" cinema in Warsaw kicked off a week-long retrospective of the films entitled "Parajanov. Colors of Cinema" with the screening of the film "The Color of the Pomegranate" and the opening of the exhibition of S. Parajanov's photographs.

Tomasz Kolankiewicz, Director of the National Film Archive - Audiovisual Institute, Ambassador Alexander Arzoumanian, Victoria Ovsepyan, Director of the Polish-Armenian Foundation, Joanna Kordjak, curator of the „Parajanov. I want to outrun my shadow” exhibition in the "Zachęta" National Gallery of Art, delivered welcoming remarks, Miłosz Stelmach, a film expert and critic, presented a lecture on the film.

As part of the "Parajanov. Colors of cinema" retrospective program, screening of the films "Ashik Kerib", "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", " The Legend of Suram Fortress", "Andriesh", "Ukrainian Rhapsody", as well as short films "Golden Hands", "Kiev Frescoes ", "Arabesques on the Pirosmani Theme ", "Hakob Hovnatanyan" and subsequent discussions are planned.

The program is organized in collaboration with the National Film Archive - Audiovisual Institute, Iluzjon Cinema, "Zachęta" National Gallery of Art, Embassy of Armenia in Poland, Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs in Poland, Polish-Armenian Foundation, Cinema Foundation of Аrmenia, and the Sergei Parajanov Museum.
