The coffin with the remains for the monument symbolizing the struggle for the freedom of the motherland was chosen by a Polish Armenian, Jadwiga Zarugiewiczowa, as the mother of a martyr in the defense battles in Lviv, and transported to Warsaw in 1925․ Jadwiga Zarugiewiczowa is currently considered the symbolic mother of the Unknown Soldier.
