On the occasion of Mother’s Day tribute was paid to the symbolic mother of the Unknown Soldier, the Armenian-born Jadwiga Zarugiewiczowa, as well as to the mothers of heroes who sacrificed their lives for the homeland

On May 26, օn the occasion of Mother’s Day, at the initiative of the Armenian Foundation and the Office for Veterans and Victims of Repression of Poland, tribute was paid to the symbolic mother of the Unknown Soldier, the Armenian-born Jadwiga Zarugiewiczowa, as well as to the mothers of heroes who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.

After the speeches and prayer, wreaths were laid at the grave of J. Zarugiewiczowa, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier memorial, and in front of the commemorative plaque dedicated to J. Zarugiewiczowa and her son Konstanty, mounted on the wall of the headquarters of the Warsaw Garrison.
