Third festival of Armenian culture

On October 5, a concert dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia was held in the Cathedral of Katowice in the framework of the third festival of Armenian culture, performed by the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, "Resonans con tutti" choir and conducted by composer Grigor Arakelian. The world premiere of "Psalms of Repentance" by Grigor Arakelian was held, based on the hymns of St. Mesrop Mashtots.

The concert was preceded by an ecumenical prayer by Metropolitan Archbishop of Katowice Adrian Galbas and Leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Poland, Bishop Markos Hovhannisyan.

The festival was organized on the initiative of Hraczja Bojadżjan, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Voivodeships of Silesia, Lower Silesia, Opole and Lesser Poland (center of consular district: Zabze) with funding from the Ministry of Interior and Administration of Poland and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the embassy, Ambassador Alexander Arzoumanian, Mr. Michał Kopanski, Vice-voivode of Silesia, Ms. Joanna Bojczuk, Vice-Marshal and Mr. Jack Jarco, Chairperson of the Silesian Voivodeship Sejmik were present at the event and delivered welcoming remarks.
