Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Poland

On May 7, in Warsaw, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Poland. The delegation of Armenia was led by Paruyr Hovhannisyan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia while the delegation of Poland was led by Marek Prawda, Undersecretary of State of Foreign Affairs of Poland.

During the consultations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of the Armenian-Polish bilateral agenda and highlighted the importance of political dialogue and bilateral high-level visits between the two countries. The prospects of expanding cooperation in various fields, as well as cooperation and mutual support within the framework of international organizations were discussed.

The counterparts exchanged views on a number of regional and international agenda issues of mutual interest. The interlocutors touched upon the Armenia-EU enhanced partnership. Paruyr Hovhannisyan underlined the importance of the EU monitoring mission deployment in Armenia, in the context of deterring aspirations towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia.

The process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan was also touched upon during the meeting. Deputy Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan briefed his counterparts on Armenia’s position on key regional issues, as well as the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Government of Armenia.

Within the framework of his visit to Poland, the Deputy Foreign Minister had meetings with Mieszko Pawlak, Undersecretary of State, Head of the International Policy Bureau in the Chancellery of the President of Poland and Wojciech Gerwel, Advisor to the President, as well as Bogdan Klich, Chairman of the Committee on European Union Affairs and Grzegorz Schetyna, Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs in the Polish Senate. The Deputy Foreign Minister also participated in a panel discussion within the framework of Defence24 Days conference and had a meeting at the Center for Eastern Studies (OSW).
