A special reception at the presidential palace for the Polish representatives of Armenian Community in Poland.

On March 29, 2017 the president of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda organized a special reception at the presidential palace for the Polish representatives of Armenian Community in Poland. The reception was attended by the Ambassador of Armenia Mr Edgar Ghazaryan Poland, Cardinal of Warsaw and East of Poland Kazimirzh Niche, deputies of the Polish Presidential Administration staff Wojciech Kolarskin and Andrzej Dera, numerous Armenian representatives of Armenian organizations settled in Poland , priests and artists and many other guests. The reception was devoted to the formation of the 650th anniversary of the Armenian community in Poland,  a historical document was brought to the Polish presidential palace from the General archive: the original document adopted by the Polish king Kazimerzh Great, where in 1367, the Polish king authorizes to His Holiness Sis II to appoint Grigori who was a priest in Armenian Apostolic Church to preach the faith freely throughout the whole territory of the Kingdom of Poland. At the ceremony Polish President Andrzej Duda had an axtensive speech stressing the importance and significance of the presence and role of Armenians in Polish history. "The history of Armenians is inseperably connected to the history of Poland. Over the centuries our mixed blood has been a great achievement. It is not possible to imagine the Polish history culture and traditions without the huge investment of Armenian people ." – said President Duda. "Armenians have always been welcomed in Poland with their traditions, culture,art and faith. Armenians made an invaluable contribution to  all the spheres of our country's public life. They have always been involved in public life of their new homeland, but at the same time always remembering about Armenia. Looking back at this centuries, me as the President of the Republic of Poland,  would like to thank You for that investment, "said Andrzej Duda. Polish President specially mentioned about figures who have made great contributions to the development of Polish culture, noting about prominent artist wth Armenian roots, Professor at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts Theodore Aksentovichin, as well as the world-famous composer Krzysztof Penderecki. The President added that Armenians got a privilege since they arrived in Poland in 1367 to establish the Diocese of the Armenian Church in Poland. In his speech, the Polish president said that in 1519 the Polish King Sigmund the Elder had recognized Armenian ancient laws as a part of the Polish legislation. After the speech of the President,  the presidential decree of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda was read awarding posthumously the Polish Renaissance Commander (Commander) with the Cross-Order of Armenian military,  Valerian Tumanovichin for his significant contribution to the independence of the Republic of Poland. During the ceremony songs by Komitas were performed by the Polish choir. During the event,   the Director of the Museum of Jagiellonian University in Krakowhad , a renowned scientist and Professor Krzysztof Stopkana also had speech, who presented interesting details about the history of the Armenian community in Poland, emphasizing the unique benefits given to the community provided by Polish kings. Separate statements were made by the priest of Armenian Apostolic Church in Poland - Tadeusz Isakowicz-Zaleski and the representative of Armenian community of Gliwice, poet Bogdan Kasproviche (God Ilovatsi Gasparyan), who in their speeches mentioned about the role of Armenians in Polish history.
