Bilateral Relations

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Poland were established on 26 February, 1992.
On February 2006 Mr. Ashot Galoyan was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Poland.
On 3 March 2010, Mr. Zdislav Rachinski was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Armenia.

Interstate relations

Since our two countries became independent, relations between Armenia and Poland have been developing consistently.  Poland views as a friendly state, a reliable partner and a country with which Armenia has common values. The Armenian-Polish dialogue, which has interstate basis, is developing and expanding with every year, encompassing numerous areas of cooperation. The visit by President Komorowski on 28-29 July, 2011 was a significant step in that direction and pronounced manifestation of the desire to move forward and deepen our high-level relations. During the visit the Presidents of RA and RP  reiterated the mutual desire and readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations. It was noted that the existing political dialogue between Armenia and Poland, cooperation in the trade, economic and cultural areas has great potential. The Sides agreed to put extra efforts in giving new impetus and content to the Armenian-Polish cooperation.First of all, Presidents of two countries paid attention to the development of the economic component of our relations. With this regard thay noted that there is a good basis for the cooperation in the areas of agriculture, tourism and energy. President of Poland also pointed out that his country is ready to assist Armenia on the way to European integration.

Polish businessmen, representing 20 economic spheres, who arrived in Armenia with President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski,  signed three memoranda of mutual understanding with the Armenian party within the framework of the Armenian-Polish business forum.Signed documents aimed at the expansion of our bilateral contacts, augmenting the number of those who will benefit from it.

The Armenian-Polish intergovernmental commission

The Armenian-Polish intergovernmental commission operated since 2010. Тhe first joint sitting of abovementioned commission took place in Yerevan on July 13, 2010. The second one  was held in Warsaw on July 7-8, 2011. The Sides discussed perspectives and opportunities of Armenia-Poland cooperation in trade-economic, financial, investment, agrarian, medical and customs fields, as well as problems of deepening ties between provinces of Armenia and Poland. During the sitting, a peculiar attention was drawn to cooperation programs in EU, particularly, in promoting implementation of Eastern Partnership Initiative programs.

Within the framework of the sitting Armenian-Polish economic forum was held, during which representatives of Polish business circles were presented investment opportunities and business-environment in Armenia. Armenian businessmen who launched activity in Poland participated in the forum.

A protocol was signed at the end of the second joint sitting of Armenian-Polish Inter-governmental Commission. An agreement on international car transport was initialed between the governments of Armenia and Poland as well.
